Every project on this site has been built, tested, and documented with real kids. No stock photos, no guesswork — just builds that genuinely work and that children genuinely enjoy.

Why We Exist

Subscription craft boxes are great, but they're expensive — $20–40/month adds up fast. And once the kit's done, the tools go in the trash. We thought: what if you could build the same quality projects at home, keep the tools, and spend a fraction of the cost?

That's Build Time With Kids. We design projects, test them with actual children, list every material you need with links to buy them, and write step-by-step instructions with real photos. You get the experience of a subscription box without the subscription.

Our Approach

• Real tools, not toy tools. Kids use kid-sized versions of real hammers, saws, and drills. They build real skills alongside real projects.
• Honest recommendations. We only link products we've actually used. If something breaks or disappoints, we say so.
• Safety first. Every kit has clear age ranges, supervision guidance, and safety callouts. We're parents too.
• Reusable hero items. We deliberately design kits around tools that recur across multiple projects. Buy a 3D pen once, use it for a dozen builds.
